Asymmetric Encryption & Public-Key Cryptography
Generate key pairs, exchange keys, and encrypt with RSA and elliptic curves. Keys are generated locally and never uploaded.

Choosing the right public-key cryptography tool
Public-key cryptography solves the problem symmetric ciphers can't: agreeing on a secret with someone you've never met. Each key pair has a public half you can share freely and a private half that never leaves your device. It powers TLS certificates, SSH logins, signed software updates, PGP email and the JWTs your APIs issue.
For signatures and SSH keys, Ed25519 is the modern default — small, fast and hard to misuse. Use RSA (3072 or 4096 bits) when a legacy system requires it, and ECDSA P-256 for JWT ES256 or TLS certificates. X25519 and Diffie-Hellman handle key agreement. All keys here are generated in your browser with the Web Crypto API or audited libraries, so private keys are never transmitted — but save them before closing the tab, because they can't be recovered.
